Baby in Red

This is Kristin putting on her best face before dragging herself to work. She gets up at 6AM everyday and doesn't get home until 6PM each night. Her commute is about an hour each way and that doesn't include the 20 blocks she has to walk from her parking garage to her office (avoiding crazy homeless people all the way). I don't know how she does it. She battles ridiculous traffic everyday in a city filled with people who have no idea how to drive. Say what you will about Boston drivers, but at least they pay attention while driving. I am convinced the people of San Diego have collectively abolished the turn signal. Maybe we just didn't get the e-mail.

While Kristin battles traffic and dodges homeless people on a daily basis, I continue to enjoy a three-mile commute. I leave for work about an hour after her, and get home about an hour before her. And she's 29 weeks pregnant. This baby can't come soon enough. Her mother needs some time away from the office. And her father needs to stop feeling so guilty and helpless.

I'm very proud of Kristin for how strong has been through all this. If I was the one dealing with all this crap over the past 8 months, I would have collapsed and given up by now. I don't know how you women do it.

Hello you two! Kristin, you look so beautiful! How I wish we could be independently wealthy. I would be there in a second to do what I could to help. Tell my grandaughter I love her and can't wait to meet her!! Love, Mom Barrett
