Kristin gave birth to a healthy baby girl on June 12th at 8:19pm. She did an amazing job! Her water broke at 7:00am and even though I had been carrying my cell phone in my pocket and checking it constantly for 5 days, Kristin's call came the second I got in the shower on Thursday morning. I called her back immediately and both her and Scott were incredibly calm. I was so impressed!
I arrived to the birthing room around 10am and next thing I knew, it was evening and the Celtics game was starting. Time was flying by, and even though Kristin was nervous about the delivery she was in very good spirits. Scott was there every step of the way holding her hand and talking her through the pain. About a million doctors and nurses came to check on her and eventually it was Dr. Diamond who delivered the baby. She also had two amazing nurses stick around for the whole thing, which according to them is very rare. Then at 8:19pm it finally happened. Bailey Elizabeth was born. It was hands down the most
amazing thing I have ever been a part of in my entire life! All of a sudden there was another person in the room, and Scott and I saw the WHOLE THING. Kristin did a tremendous job, she pushed for hours and never complained. I always heard rumors that babies could be funny looking when they first come out, but not Bailey, she was perfectly cute from the first second she was born. Next thing I knew she was cleaned up, crying, and in her mother's arms. Kristin was so happy she just kept saying I love you Bailey, I love your hands, I love your fingers, and I love your nose. Bailey was born 7 lbs. 4oz., and 18 inches.

Oh yeah and the Celtics won game four that night, the biggest come back in Celtics history! They sure did pick a special day to pull that off, I wonder if they know that my sister had a baby that night, I bet they can't top that! This is the first time Scott held Bailey. He's a natural. Since the birth, Kristin has been trying to get some rest. She is a trooper. My Mom and Dad flew in on Thursday and their plane was landing at the same moment Bailey was being born. The Regans came early the next morning, but got to hear Bailey's first cries over the phone. Scott and Kristin are so happy to have both of thier families here. My Mom has not left my sister's side. She is so excited to have a new Granddaughter. Now if Kristin and Scott could only get some sleep! They get to go home this afternoon. They will have a lot of support over the next two weeks.
Then it's Auntie Andrea til the next Grandparent visit. I have to say I am thrilled to be an Aunt. I can literally say I have known her from the second she was born.
