It's a lazy Saturday afternoon and Kristin just went out to "drive around with the music loud and maybe go to CVS for some stuff".
So I'm at home watching the Sox/Yankees with my dogs, while Bailey is taking a nap in her crib. And by "dogs" I do not mean my urban friends, but my six-pound chihuahuas. And by "crib" I do not mean Bailey's home in the 'hood, but her baby crib.
(pause for laughter)
Anyway, we're all on eggshells here - just waiting for Bailey to start wailing from the nursery. Sometimes I feel like a fireman when I'm watching her alone - I have to be ready to jump up and get my shit together within seconds. It's exhausting just watching TV. But I really can't complain anymore, because I have the cutest little girl ever. And she's been napping for over an hour and a half now. And I swear she's not dead. I've checked twice already. Here she is enjoying some shapes on another dog day afternoon in BaileyWorld.

Isn't she perfect? I know, I know. We're the best at making kids. What can we say?
I do have to say that we'd be screwed right now if Heather never came to visit. She really helped us tremendously. We finally get it. Bailey is just over six weeks old and we've already got a daily routine figured out. This helps us narrow things down when Bailey is flipping out like a lunatic, which still happens all the time. But now we know why she is flipping out and how to fix it, which can limit her tantrums to very short periods of time.
Overall, things are really going great for the Regan family. So our lives are as insane as ever, and my brain feels like a bag of Jiffy Pop. But change is good (just ask our next president), Jiffy Pop is delicious (it's a shame it's just so stressful and messy) and a rolling stone gathers no moss...right?

Hi Scott, loved your update on Bailey's daily life with her Mom and Dad. The video is adorable, wow she is so alert. She's probably thinking I've got the life with a beautiful Mom and Dad that love me so much. I can tell she's got you wrapped around her finger. Thanks again for the beautiful pictures and weekly updates it's so much fun to go in and share your daily life with us. Love you both so much can't wait to see you all soon. Love, Auntie Linda
Bailey is absolutely beautiful. Nana & Papa miss her so much.
Actually your Mom and I were the best at making kids. It's nice to know that the Barretts and Bussdiekers can keep pace.

Hi Kristin, you crack me up :). Reminds me a lot of Dinah during after Crockett was born -- especially when something unexpected came up, we were scrambling all over babycenter.com and another place we could find online back then.
I remember being tired all the time too during the month I took off to take care of Crockett when Dinah went back to work. All I could do was sit around an watch movies and TV -- I got used to watching with the volume one step above mute.
Anyway, take care. All's the same here at work.
I need Maggie TV. I mean the baby is cute and all but that Maggie... Seriously, you have a gorgeous baby girl with some serious hair and pretty blue eyes! Enjoy every minute with her. Anne and I went to Starbucks on our way home and I noticed that my arm smelled like "baby". How can that not make you smile!! You've got a keeper. Now, make Scott get on that Maggie TV thing.
Bailey IS perfect in every way! I can't wait for her to come visit Ocean Beach. I love to see how different she looks each day, she has already changed so much since that video.
