Independent Women

Happy 4th of July, everyone. Can you believe how great Kristin looks after just 3 weeks? Here is a picture from Bailey's first Independence Day.

Today the three of us ventured out into the big bad world. We took the SuperStroller to a park by our house for the 2008 Rancho Bernardo Independence Day Gala. We ate hot dogs and ice cream under a tree as we watched teen signers compete to be this year's RB Idol.

A 15-year-old belted out a song about getting drunk and having a one night stand as soccer moms and geriatrics danced on the fresh cut grass. The local boy scouts monitored with walkie talkies in hand as a creepy old lady played a violin for tips. It was at this perfect Norman Rockwell moment when Kristin and I gazed into each others eyes and said, "HOW IN THE HELL DID WE END UP HERE? All of a sudden we're friggin 80?"

We moved to San Diego four years ago for a new adventure and some irresponsible fun. And before we knew it, we turned into yuppy parents in Suburbia. But such is life I guess. Bailey and Mom are doing great. Kristin has morphed into Supermom and is taking this whole baby thing by storm. That little stinky, grumpy girl is the cutest thing ever and the best thing to ever happen to me...and Bailey is pretty cool too.

I guess this means we're keeping her.

Scott & Kristin,
Congratulations on the birth of your sweet little Bailey. I have to tell you your blog is hillarious. You could make it into a sit com ! I've now bookmarked it, maybe that says how exciting my life is.
