So I just flew back to San Diego from a two day whirlwind stay at my once and future home. It's 11 PM Pacific Time, which means it should feel like 2 AM to me. But to be honest, I don't even know what day it is. All I know is I don't have time for jet lag.
I was lucky enough to drop Kristin and Bailey off in Weymouth at the same time my sister and her family were visiting from Ohio. It was also my Dad's birthday, Bailey's 11-week birthday, and our second wedding anniversary. It was a blast hanging out with our new family - even if it was for just a day.
Here is a video I took this morning of Heather and Mike's daughter, Abigail. I have to warn you, I was shooting this with a digital camera and not a camcorder so it's a little shakey. It may be a little too Blair Witch for those prone to motion sickness. And after hearing my voice, I want to kick my own ass. I'm worse than Bob Saget on America's Funniest Home Videos. What the hell has become of me? I really am genuinely sorry for being such a dork. I thought I was much cooler that this. But, I had to share this video and didn't have time to edit out my commentary. I'm just going to keep my mouth shut from now on. I know, I know. It's not about you anymore, Scott.
So I've got a lot to do around here before hitting the road. The movers are supposed to come tomorrow, but we've learned not to trust people who take things cross country. They're a fickle lot. They're not really into being on time. Maybe they get caught up in all that chicken fried steak they eat on the road and just lose track of time. Either that or they just really like to keep you on your toes.
I already miss my gals terribly and I really can't believe I am going to drive from San Diego to Boston by myself. It's something that I will never forget, but I am starting to wonder what the hell I was thinking. I am tired of being away from my family. I am just tired in general. But how can I complain? Not many people ever get a chance to do something like this. It should be fun as long as I don't get on my own nerves too much. I'll keep you all posted with lots of goofy pictures from this great country of ours.
