Happy 30th, Mommy!

Saturday was Kristin's 30th birthday. And despite her overall feeling of dread, we managed to have a great day. Kristin's parents and grandmother drove up from the Cape to take us out to lunch and hang out with Bailey Elizabeth, cutest baby ever. We had lunch at a little restaurant in Hingham called The Square Cafe. It was a nice little place with a menu that had Kristin written all over it. Very trendy and chic. I had a burger and fries that came in a fancy wooden box.

Later that day my parents had an ice cream cake (as if we weren't stuffed already) with a 3 and a 0 candle. If it were up to me, I would have put 31 candles all over that sucker just to see if she could blow them all out, but my Mom was a little more sympathetic than me and opted for the two candled numbered approach.

My gift to Kristin was an enormous amethyst and diamond David Yurman ring. I figured that after forking over the cash for a monstrous rock of an engagement ring, I had to keep up the facade that she has a wealthy husband. I probably could have picked up a sweet new flat screen TV for the same amount of money, but I realized a long time ago that a happy wife is better than a nice TV anyday. It was the big 3-0, what was I gonna do? Buy her another Brita?

Here is a great picture of 4 generations of beautiful women. They say you should always look at a girl's Mom before taking the plunge into marriage. Well, I think it's safe to say that I made a wise decision (see Grandmother Kim Barrett, far left). And believe it or not, that is Bailey's 85-year-old Great-Grandmother in that picture. Not bad, huh? That woman is mentally sharper and in better shape than I am, for God's Sake. I'm a very lucky man

Overall, we had a great weekend. We took a ton of photos of Bailey in her Patriots cheerleader outfit, but I decided to hold off on posting those after yesterday's dreadful loss. I really don't need to provide any additional ammunition for all those raucous Charger fans out there.

Okay, I have to admit I am very entertained by the commentary on this site--especially from Scott whom I've only met once at the Sempra holiday party. I know it's about Bailey, but Scott's adventures' is a pretty interesting read.

By the way, we have a good friend out here name Kevin -- Kevin Forster from Framingham, Mass, who used to work out at Bose before he traveled out west to San Diego. He's not your typical New Englander since he's a Seahawks/Chargers fan and a Mets fan. But small world that you're moving to Framingham.

Happy 30th Kristen. Love the photos-- I want to see this ring. Congrats. Good job Scott.
Hugs and kisses to Miss Bailey-cutest baby ever and puppies.

-Polite Chargers fan,
Mary Ann

What a small world Mary Ann. Scott is loving Bose but right now hating his commute. We can't get into our house in Framingham fast enough. The good news is that we're probably going to be in earlier than we thought. Next blog post will include a photo of the ring.

So great to hear from you!

I saw the ring and it is amazing. I can't wait to see it over Thanksgiving.

I miss you all very much, but am so happy for you and your new house. Give Bailey a big hug and kiss for me.

Okay, okay. I know I need to update the blog. It's been a long time and I should post more. I will post more.

All I need to do now is figure out how to use my laptop while driving. There are no laws against that yet, right?
