Well, we can all finally rest assured knowing that little Bailey Liz is now a child of God, free from that icky original sin that's been hounding her all these months. Thank God we went through with it too because I was really getting sick of having someone in the house who didn't have a chance of getting into to heaven even if she tried.
Yes indeed, folks, Bailey Elizabeth Regan was

Christened and became a certified Catholic a few days after Christmas. And contrary to what Kristin and I predicted, her head did not explode the minute she entered the Church. In fact, she was a perfect angel throughout the entire mass, the subsequent head-dunking and even the ballyhoo reception that followed across the street at Peking Palace.
She didn't make a peep the whole time. When she got tired, she just buried her head into my Dad's belly and passed out. It was amazing, really. I think it just proves that God likes to mess with all of us when He gives us these whining, screaming kids. He knows He can shut them up whenever he feels like it. I am so excited for her to live the same life of guilt and fear that made me the neurotic, anxious lunatic that I am today.

So the post-Christening party featured a phenomenal Chinese buffet, an open bar and a DJ. What else would you expect from two Irish families from Massachusetts? It was during the Pats game, so I was worried people might be too preoccupied to enjoy themselves as much as they normally would at a Sunday afternoon Christening on Cape Cod in the dead of winter. But believe it or not, I think some people actually had fun. People drank Scorpion Bowls and danced the Macerena. I swear to God.
And, my two-year-old niece Abby was the star

of the show, dancing the pants off anyone on the "dance floor", which was actually just a ten-by-ten spot on the restaurant floor where someone had moved a few tables. She and her partner Natalia (Kristin's cousin's daughter) would have been the clear front runners had this been an episode of "Dancing with the Catholics". I have no idea how all this fun happened at a Christening, but it did. God has a funny way of making the strangest events very fun.
It

's been a long time since I posted something, but I should be back in the groove now that my "vacation" is over. What I didn't realize about taking vacations as a new Dad is, you don't actually ever get to rest. I can't just curl up and watch a movie in the middle of the day as a new Dad. These days, I've got to deal with a screaming baby, a worn-out wife who is ready to run away, and two dogs who refuse to do their business in the twenty feet of snow surrounding our house. All those pipe dreams of completed

errands and crappy TV marathons went down the drain the minute I got home. And it's not like Kristin isn't still doing everything she always does when I'm home - it's just that the work is never ending. Sometimes I wonder how my Aunt Helen and Uncle Joe (parents of 12 ) never sought sweet relief from it all by just jumping in the car, revving up the engine to block out the noise and taking a nice long rest...while it's running...in the garage.

In other news, my Mom's birthday was on January 2nd. She celebrated by treating herself to a new haircut. When she came home, my Dad commented by saying, "Wow, you don't look a day over 60, Cathy!" This may have come off as a compliment had he not said it exactly one day after her sixtieth birthday. I love that joke and can't wait to steal it from him in like 30 years.
Do you believe she's 60? The good thing is she really looks great.

I don't know, today's 60 seems a lot younger than the 60-year-old people I knew growing up. Is 60 the new 50? If I were a cheesy online columnist, I might attempt to answer that question. But I'm not. I'm way cooler than that. I'm a baby blogger. And as your favorite baby blogger I vow the put more pictures of my baby on this baby blog than ever before in the history of baby blogdom. You're going to be sick of checking the blog because every time you check there is going to be a new hilarious posting to read. And it's probably going to be filled with lame goofy baby jokes and all sorts of family-friendly sappy content that you're just going to eat up.
Speaking of family-friendly sappy content, here is a quick sideshow I did with the Christening photos. I haven't even started talking about the rest of the holidays, but I'll have plenty of time to update you on those events in the next week or so. In the meantime I hope you all had a wicked pissa Christmas and are stoked for a super-rad New Year.
