Kicks and hiccups

Wow, she's moving all the time now. I used to only be able to feel her moving at night, when I was completely still. Now, I feel her throughout the day and I just started to feel what I think is baby hiccups. I read that this is going to start happpening more often. It's such a funny feeling.

I had my pregestational diabetes test a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything so I'm assuming that's a good sign. Some of the most important tests I've had (like all of the genetic testing) work like that. The doctor just says, "if you don't hear from us that's good." I personally don't like that policy and I'm sure other Moms don't either. How hard is it to call us and tell us everything looks okay?

The aches and pains are still pretty intense. The worst part is the back pain. I know that my job makes it worse because I'm sitting at my computer most of the day. The warmer weather is now also making my feet swell--but I'll take warm weather over freezing cold and snow anyday. It's been absolutely beautiful here the last few weeks, but the weirdest thing happened last night. We started to hear what sounded like torrential rain. Scott went out a little while later and came back with a handful of hail! That doesn't happen around here.

We're starting to get the house ready for the baby. Scott and I got new bedroom furniture including an armoire for Scott. That way we can move him out of our guest room which will become the baby's nursery. Of course nothing ever goes smoothly. The bed frame we bought was for a california king, but our old mattress was an eastern king. So yesterday we went back to Jerome's and bought a new mattress. It's a pillow top and extremely comfortable. Both of us are going to take advantage of getting as much sleep now as we can. Because we know that won't last long.
